Karnataka: ‘Congress Laidwork for Mekedatu’

Bengaluru: The opposition congress on Wednesday tried to deny the charges of BJP in power who was legally legal and apathetic on the government of the Sidaramaian Congress (2013-2018) blocking the implementation of the Mekedatu reservoir project.
Senior Congress MLA MB Patil, who is the Minister of Water Resources in the Government of Siddarama, accused the state government, especially the Minister of Water Resources Govind Karjol, from people who are misleading by presenting false information on the project to justify the delay.
“Our government was the first to accept the foundation for the Mekedatu project by preparing pre-feasibility reports after being approved by the cabinet on March 13, 2017.
Detailed project reports were submitted to the Central Air Commission Bengaluru, on June 7, 2017, 2017,” said Patil, proved his claim with documents.
Although CWC was looking for pre-feasibility reports after changes in its guidelines in 2017, in 2018 received the DPR on the grounds that it was not an irrigation project.
On January 18, 2019, the DPR revised RS 9,000 Crore was delivered by JD (s) the government -Congress when the KPCC President DK Shivakumar was the Minister of Water Resources.
“They did it by successfully arguing before the Supreme Court and the center led by Fali Nariman,” said Patil.
He added that no stay in the Supreme Court opposed the implementation of the project for drinking purposes.
The central government must provide environmental permits, while the Cauvery Water Management Authority must approve the project.
Karnataka can continue the project for falling in the country, and the Tamil Nadu government has no right to oppose it as long as Karnataka ensures the water quota set to a neighboring country every year in accordance with the tribunal cauvery water dispute.
“But the BJP government in two and a half years has not done anything to get approval and implement the project, even though they claim to have a multiple engine government.
Now Karjol, which himself seems to be confused, is a misleading person by blaming Congress for delays,” he thought.
Karjol against patil claims and trying to find out why the Congress government takes four years to appoint consultants to prepare the DPR.
He pointed to the delay in five months in providing exemption to call a global tender for the preparation of the DPR from the transparency of Karnataka in public procurement (KTPP) acting based on a 4G clause.
