MANGALURU: Terming the increase in oil cost as’taxation warfare,’ former Karnataka minister U T Khader said that the BJP government at the Centre was assaulting average man.
The Congress MLA told colleagues in Mangaluru on Thursday, the central government has raised the amount of gas and gas when individuals were in misery as a result of pandemic.
“Hiking the cost of gas and gas through significant taxation is taxation warfare from the central authorities.
For the very first time in the history of India, the cost of gas has spanned Rs 100/litre and that will be the accomplishment of the BJP government in seven decades.
They’ve been asserting the increase in oil cost is because of global rates.
If this is so, why are gas and petrol more affordable in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan?” Khader requested.
He declared that the BJP government was deceiving the people during their own lies.
“The taxation on petrol has risen to almost Rs 32, that had been approximately Rs 9 throughout the tenure of this UPA government.
They’ve been fleecing the people to meet with out the state exchequer.
On the other hand, the total collected by such taxes are utilized to waive the accounts from those wealthy, rather than employed for the sake of these bad,” Khader said.
In addition, he questioned the logic of decreasing the cost of gas and gas only through elections.
“The government doesn’t have any concern with the individuals of the nation.
Enable them to decrease the fuel cost before people begin agitations,” he recommended.
Khader said that BJP leaders have been engaged in infighting, rather than fighting Covid-19.
“They ought to have held meetings to remedy the grievances of individuals throughout the pandemic.
But they’ve been holding meetings to address their struggle for direction.
It’s a betrayal of the people of this nation.
Individuals are in trouble and facing issues, but also the BJP does not have any issue towards it.
Enable them to exude political meetings and concentrate on handling the Covid-19 catastrophe,” he explained.
