Karnataka: Congress sees opportunities for Woo Lingayats

Bengaluru: Speculation that developed upon the time of BS Yediyurappa in the office has left Congress hoping that the parts of the community that they represented will move away from BJP in anger.
Every change in how lingayats, BJP’s main support base, sound can significantly affect the subsequent assembly selection, which leads to the possibility of a rise for Congress.
But for this to happen, many will depend on how BJP handles the exit of Yediyurappa, if any, and who is brought as the new minister.
Other lingayat faces can help avoid or minimize loss of support.
However, members of Congress rely on many factors to work and help them seduce the community.
They stepped in carefully while commenting on Churn reported in Karnataka BJP because Yediyurappa continued to enjoy the vast popularity in the community.
In fact, the senior MLAS congress and former Shamanur Minister Shivashankarappa and MB Patil have voiced solidarity with Yediyurappa by asking BJP Brass to treat a 78-year-old child with respect.
The big part of the community that was once supported by the Congress, thanks to the efforts of the former Veerendra Patil minister’s head.
But they moved closer to BJP after Veerendra Patil was excluded from the top work in 1990 at that time the Congress of President Rajiv Gandhi.
Lingayats contributed 17 percent of the Karnataka population and formed a large voter group at 95 out of a total of 224 assembly constituencies.
Anyone who won more than half of the 95 seats moved to the third floor of Vidhana Soudha.
This is the case with BJP in assembly elections in 2008 and 2018.
Congress has tried to increase its position among Lingayat voters.
In 2017, he launched a campaign that was looking for independent status for the community, but the transfer was donated in the 2018 assembly poll.
With BJP reportedly struggling to find the successors of Yediyurappa, Congress believed there was a chance to win the community back.
“When we saw the legacy of Yediyurappa, Lingayats chose in bulk for him in 2008, especially because of anger against the former HD Prime Minister Deve Gowda and Vokkaliga Bais reported.
Lingayats continues to support BJP since then.
Now, Congress tries to use where it fails the last moment, “Said SM Jamdar, the organizers for Mahasabha’s lingayat jagtika.
But MB Patil told TOI that his statement was not political.
“It was inappropriate for, the way in which Yediyurappa was treated when he reached Delhi.
Even before he met the central leadership, the news of his resignation was released to the media.
For a man from a sport and age, who built a BJP carnataka from the bottom up, it was Really painful.
As a member of the community, I found it disappointing, “he said.
He added that he would say the same thing if Congress asked him to explain his comments.
