Elementary school children will go to school from Monday after the gap of nearly 18 months.
Low positive levels and death rates that can be ignored among children in the age group 0-9 are seen as reasons behind this step.
Since the beginning of Pandemi, 19,93,532 children in the age group 0-9 have been tested positively in Karnataka.
The death rate is 0.1 percent.
In the age group 10-19 years, 2,32,900 was tested positive and 94 died.
The death rate is the lowest in the 10-19 age group by 0.04 percent.
Class studies for grade 6 to 12 began last month.
In Mysuru, 82 percent of grade 6-10 students attend school now.
“This number is expected to rise because we have started eating midday,” officials said at the Public Instruction Department.
“There is no Covid-19 outbreak at school from the beginning of a physical class.
There is no reason to worry,” said Chandrashekar Nuggi, Secretary General, Government Teacher Association.
Mysuru District Supervision Officer Dr.
T Shivaprasad said: “The majority of the 18-plus population is now immunized.
Adding this, children have immunity to this infection.” Vishal R, Commissioner, DPI, said: “For 15 days, we are trying to reopen Schools for elementary school children to grade 5.
We have sensitive all stakeholders to make schools.
SERO surveys have revealed more than 70 percent of children have developed antibodies.
