Karnataka cuts the price of RT-PCR tests to Rs 500

Mangaluru: The Karnataka government has cut the RT-PCR test price, capping at Rs 500 per test in the private lab, down from RS 800.
This revision comes ten months after the state cut RT-PCR costs from Rs 1200 to 800 in December last year.
This is equivalent to countries such as Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Kerala, with Andhra Pradesh to be the lowest at Rs 475 per test.
In the notification issued last week, the government revised the maximum price for various types of tests for Covid-19.
