Karnataka: Documentary Film, Release Book to mark the 25th anniversary of the D’Souza Ex-Bishop of Basil D’Souza

Mangaluru: Mangalore’s diocese will remember former Basil Bishop D’Souza at the commemoration of his 25th death by holding holy memorial Mass in the Lady of Holy Rosario Cathedral, Rosario, at 9.30 September.
A brief documentary on the life and mission of the Basil Bishop will be presented and also a book about the life and achievement of the Basil Bishop will be released.
This book consists of 50 articles written by those who work with Basil Bishop, stated the release of the Bishop of Basil Bishak Salvadore d’Souza ended on September 5, 1996.
He led Mangalore Catholic diocese from May 11, 1965 until his death on September 5, 1996, during 31 years long.

He is the first bishop to start the liturgy in a vernacular language and get a new agreement, mass and mass reading books translated into Konkani.
Because of this initiative, Konkani language gets a lot of respectful recognition.
Mangalore became the first diocese to have a pastoral representative body based on the Vatican Landing of Council II under his leadership, adding its release.
