Karnataka forms a panel for farmers’ purposes

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Government, in its efforts to implement the central government scheme of doubling the income of farmers has decided to form a high-level committee involving farmers, other committees involving experts of the University of Agriculture and the Second Directorate.
On Wednesday, immediately after a meeting with the Central Government Committee to double the income of farmers and Chair of Ashok Dalwai, Chairman of the Bukavaraj Minister Bommai said Karnataka had decided to become the first country to begin the process in this matter.
CM has set a deadline of 2023-24 to ensure that this scheme is on the ground.
“After meeting Dalwai and committee members, the state government has decided to establish a high-level committee involving farmers as a member of direct and regular contact with the center on various schemes that will be implemented at the ground.
We have also decided to establish other committees involving Experts from our Agricultural University to see the basic requirements of farmers, “said CM Bommai.
Bommai said the University of Agriculture experts would look into the quality of the seeds, land requirements, pest management, fertilizer management and other farmers’ needs.
At the other end, the state government has also decided to establish a second directorate for marketing and sales purposes of agricultural products.
The secondary agriculture directorate will involve products from agriculture, horticulture, sericulture and dairy farms.
Can be remembered that the State Union Minister for Agriculture Shobha Karandlaje has earlier this month, said that Karnataka was left behind in other countries in the country in the marketing and sales of its agricultural products, requiring a focus encouragement for that purpose.
