BELOGIVAVI: Four siblings were swept away on the Krishna River in Halya Village in Bellagavi Karnataka when they washed clothes on the river on Monday.
According to the police, the brothers had washed clothes to observe the annual ritual, when one of them was washed away because of the current when he traveled into the river, while the rest was swept away in an effort to save him.
Laxman Nimbaragi police supervisor said that the other three plunged into the water to save him.

The deceased has been identified as Gopal Banasude (36), Sadashiva Banasude (24), Darpalaze Banasude (22) and Shankara Basudude (20).
