Karnataka Government Revokes the Rules Make Kannada Mandatory Language for UG Courses

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has rolled back the decision to make a required Kannada language for undergraduate students.
In accordance with the New Order, students who do not want to take local languages ​​will not be forced until further orders from the High Court.
The decision has been taken against the background of the temporary order by the High Court in this matter.
Following orders, students who have taken for courses also get the opportunity to choose the language of their choice to learn not Kannada.
Attendance will be adjusted to new languages.

The state government on August 7, 2021 makes Kannada’s learning mandatory for students who take graduation courses in the state.
The government stated that this order was in line with the implementation of national education policies (NEP).
The government has asked students who have not studied Kannada at school to study functional kannada for one semester.
Tour Samskrita Bharati (Karnataka), three other organizations and five students have submitted a petition to challenge the government’s orders.
The previous high court argued that the state government at this stage did not insist on making compulsory language.
The court further states that students who do not want to take Kannada will not be forced to pursue Kannada to further orders.
