BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court Tuesday chose the Belagavi city police commissioner to work because of his failure to enroll a single FIR in connection with a enormous BJP rally held at town on January17 in which Covid-19 protocols, such as wearing of masksthat were flouted. Union home minister Amit Shah had attended the rally held at the run up to the Lok Sabha byelection into the Belagavi constituency. After assessing the affidavit filed by K Thyagarajan, commissioner of police, Belagavi town, a division bench led by chief prosecution Abhay Shreeniwas Oka noted the officer is totally oblivious and ignorant of the terms of the Epidemic Diseases Amendment Act. The court has directed him to file an original affidavit.
