Bengaluru: The state and central government seems to have been “different” for the reasons behind Karnataka losing funds under the Swades and Prasad scheme.
While the center claims that the carnataka “failed” to provide an outline of their right circuits under the Prasad (religious tourism) and Swades (local tourism), the state government has objected to the assessment and said there was a “technical” problem behind the proposal.
Central Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, during a press conference, said: “Karnataka failed to provide details of their proposals in connection with the Prasad and Swades scheme which resulted in the state not receiving funds for tourism development.
However, I will review the previous proposal today and ensure that It will get funds under this scheme.
“However, Karnataka Tourism Minister Anand Singh said it was disappointing that the Government Government said the country failed to provide the right details.
“Karnataka has submitted details under the Prasad scheme for approval from the center.
However, it was rejected because of the technical.
We will once again provide detailed proposals for the scheme of the country,” Singh said.
Tourism officials said Karnataka had provided the Bukit Chamundi circuit for the purpose under the Prasad scheme.
“However, the Central Government restored a proposal with certain observations which included that the temple on the Bukit Chamundi had developed well and was not in accordance with the criteria for the scheme.
Our observations are that there are more tourist facilities that need to be provided on the Chamundi Hills site and thus need Funds to provide different experiences to tourists, “said the official, quoting the government will encourage approval once again at the Conference.
Meanwhile, under Swades, coastal circuits have been shot down and the state government must return to the drawing board to secure funds under this scheme.
