Karnataka: Man does his wife’s last ritual, ending life

Mangaluru: A 53-year-old man ended his life by hanging himself, after completing his wife’s last ritual in Karnataka.
Shivappa married Chandravathi for the past eight years.
The couple lives in Mudipire in Machina Karnataka Village.
Shivappa was reported to be an alcoholic, and Chandravathi, upset because they did not have children, allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves to the tree near the house on Friday.
Shivappa was reportedly annoyed with his death.
On Saturday, after completing his wife’s last rite, he allegedly committed suicide between 10 nights on Saturday and 6 am on Sunday, by hanging himself to the iron pole placed to tie Shamiyana for his wife’s funeral ceremony.
The case has been registered at the Punjaltatte police station.
