GADAG: The city of Mulagunda Pancayat has managed to revive seven lakes under his jurisdiction.
Panchayat authorities have successfully cleared encroachment in 18 hectares, who have ensured the flow of water without interference to the lake.
The authorities revived three lakes using government funds, and the money they obtained from private organizations.
Panchayat achievements are recognized by the government, which gives the first prize in the conservation and the rise of the lake.
Officer Head of Panchayat City Mulagunda MS Bentur said that encroachment along the lake catchment area had left them dry and barren.
“We collected all the relevant documents from the land note department, after we cleaned all encroachment.
We revived three lakes with funds channeled by the government.
Rural Rural Development Project Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala gave sanctions RS 4.1 Lakh.
Total costs revived seven lakes Rs 24 lakh.
We issued an open call to the farmers in Mulagunda, and each of them was offered one mud released from the free lake.

Farmers Basavaraj Sunkapur based in Mulagunda said that the rise of lakes had helped refill groundwater reserves in the city.

Mulagunda Town Panchayat Members Vijaykumar Neelagun appreciate officials to take the initiative of client encroachment despite the risk of opposition it can be attractive from political parties.
