Karnataka: Nine COVID-19 Cases Found in Paramedic Colleges in Mangalore

Mangaluru: After more than a month, Dakshina Regency Kannada found a cluster where nine students were tested positive for Covid-19 as on Monday.

K V Rajendra said that a cluster was identified in the paramedic colleges on the outskirts of the city where nine positive cases were reported in the last three days.

“Students, who are positively tested, have been isolated at the hostel.
We have visited women’s hostels and boys and all steps have been taken to prevent the spread of viruses.
We have collected a sample of 173 students, which are primary and secondary contacts from those tested positively .

Ashok, adding that those who tested positive for around 18 years old.
While three cases were reported on Saturday, four were tested positive on Sundays and two on Monday, he said, adding that their sweats would be collected for RT-PCR tests again after seven days.
A total of 16 cases were reported in Navodaya Vidyalaya in the district between 15 and November 28.
The Ministry of Health has collected swabs from 231 main contacts from the Institute, where there are three active cases at this time, said Dr.

Jagadeesh District Supervision Officer said that positive tested samples were also sent for genome sequencing.
Commissioner Corporation Corporation Mangaluru Akshy Sridhar said that students were tested based on the MCC instructions where they had to test everyone who had returned from Kerala in the last 15 days.
