Bengaluru: Health Minister Karnataka Dr.
K Sudhakar on Wednesday said government and private school teachers would be vaccinated against Covid-19 so that the school could be reopened without children to get infection from the faculty.
In Tweet, Sudhakar said the state government wants the reopening of the beginning of the school.
“Corona vaccine will be given on the basis of priority to the non-teaching teachers and staff of all governments, private countries assisted and without assistance in the state for the initial re-opening of schools that consider the future of children,” Minister said.
The schools closed this academic year considering scare Covid-19 despite online classes.
When health experts expressed concerns over children infected if and when the third wave of Covid-19 attacks, the government intensified adult vaccination to ensure they did not continue infection with young people.
At present, there are no vaccines for those under the age of 18.
