Bengaluru: Notification of the transfer of government college lecturers has triggered one line, with several staff saying that the pandemic is not the right time to change the location or post.
They also questioned the list of seniority.
The Lecturer Association said that the announcement of the state government had become concessential, especially for teachers posted in rural areas, even though his orders needed several tweaks.
According to notice, around 15 percent, or 1,140, from 7,600 total staff qualified for transfers, some of which will be mandatory.
The government has published a list of eligible teachers.
“It is unfair that we are asked to move in the middle of a pandemic.
Travel is the main problem today, and there is always an infected risk.
We don’t understand in a hurry for this order when the central government says that there is no transfer that can happen now,” said a person Lecturers, who don’t want to be named.
“The sudden transfer of teachers will also affect students when the class on campus does not occur.” Other lecturers claim that notifications have several problems.
“There is no transparency.
The government must release a list of all lecturers, and not just 15 percent.
Only so we know who is actually qualified.
There is also a problem with the zone classification,” he said, adding that the seniority system of troubled thinking.
A teacher said: “Gazette notice was issued on April 30, when we were confined to save our lives.
Locking was followed and there were no facilities to file an objection online.” The Karnataka Government Teacher Association said that many staff had been waiting for the transfer.
“Since 2017, there is no transfer.
We have asked officials to restart the process.
The notification is relieved.
However, we want some changes.
There is dissatisfaction with the way the seniority list has been made.
Apart from that, we also want flexibility in exceptions,” TM said Manjunatha, President of the Association.
He added that the association did not have a problem with time.
“Our transfer period is from April to July, in accordance with the rules.
Even now, the Department of Basic and Medium Education is carrying out the transfer process for school teachers,” he said.
The association has submitted a memorandum of changes desired by the lecturer in the seniority list.
