Karnataka reported 783 new Covid-19 cases, 16 deaths

Bengaluru: Karnataka on Sunday recorded 783 fresh Covid-19 cases, took Caseload to 29.67 lakh, while 16 deaths pushed the victim to 37,603.
That day also saw 1,139 people being sent home, taking the total recovery amount to 29.15 lakh.
Active cases stand at 15,383, said Bulletin Department of Health.
Bengaluru Urban contributed the maximum number of 267 cases and seven fatalities, he said.
Dakshina Kannada District bordering Kerala remains the main Covid-19 hotspot with 97 fresh infections and one death.
Other districts also reported new cases with Udupi Logging 82, followed by MySuru (69), Kodagu (41), Chikkamagaluru (36) and Hassan (34).
Bagalekote, Koppal, Raichur, Ramanagara and Yadgir reported zero infection and zero death.
Twenty-five districts reported zero death, said Bulletin.
As many as 1,29,874 samples were tested in the state on Sunday, taking the cumulative number of specimens checked so far up to 4.63 crores.
The number of vaccinations carried out so far in the country rose to 5.20 crores, with 58,509 people inoculated on Sunday, he said.
