Karnataka school will be reopened for class 9-12 of August 23

Bengaluru: The State Government Friday decided to reopen schools for class 9 and 10 and pre-university colleges (I and II PUC) from August 23, together to increase duration at night at one hour.
Given the increase in Covid cases, he also brought weekend wednesday in eight districts bordering Kerala and Maharashtra until August 16.
After reviewing the Covid-19 situation in the state with health experts and education, CM Basilvaraj Bommai said the school and college would be asked to hold classes on alternative days by dividing students into two batches.
“We have decided to do so (reopen educational institutions) in two stages.
In the first stage, class 9-12 and in the second stage, class 1-8,” he said.
Online class will continue as usual.
Of the 1,805 cases in Karnataka on Friday, Bengaluru reported 441 from them.
Thirtysix Death re-installed Covid is recorded in all states and 7 coming from the city.
BOMMAI said public health experts argue that the decision to start the primary and secondary classes until the 8th grade must be taken at the end of August after considering the possibility of the third wave and the intensity of Covid infection at the point of time.
He said the weekend curfew was implemented in the border district due to the increase in Covid cases in neighboring countries.
Weekends will come into force in Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, MySuru, Chamarajanagar, Bidar, Bidar, Vijayapura and Kalaburagi until August 16.
The government has also issued orders that prohibit Jathras (exhibitions), procession and church.
Only 20 people will be permitted for cremation and funeral and no more than 100 for weddings and family functions in these districts.
CM says travel checks will be tight and the RT-PCR test remains mandatory.
“Those who enter from Maharashtra and Kerala must produce a negative certificate.
This is a mandatory requirement, we will not show any concessions in implementing this,” he said, when asked about protests against the steps in bordering countries.
Across the country, night hours will now take effect from 9pm to 5 in the morning, instead of 10 o’clock at night.
Police have been asked to implement timings strictly.
“We have discussed the current Covid situation, also some directions have come at the All-India level about the possibility of an increase or decrease in the level of participants in the coming days.
Based on it, we have achieved a certain decision,” Bommai explained.
He added that the new Covid-19 task unit consisting of ministers would be formed in a few days.
The source of the official said the parents of students who would go to school would be identified and vaccinated the priority.
“We have provided direction to workers and health officials to identify parents of students from grade 9 to 12, over 45 years old, and began to give them a vaccine in priority,” said an official present at the meeting.
