CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Friday explained his Karnataka counterpart ] Yediyurappa’s announcement that Mekedatu dam could be constructed after obtaining the sanction of the Union administration was strongly condemnable.
“The Karnataka government must immediately give up its strategy which goes contrary to the interests of Tamil Nadu and contrary to the Supreme Court order.
The Union government shouldn’t grant consent for the dam structure.
I enroll powerful protests on behalf of Tamil Nadu,” Stalin said in an declaration.
The ministry said the state authorities was opposing the strategy because the undertaking would also decrease the quantum of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu as stipulated by the Supreme Court.
“The Tamil Nadu legislative assembly passed a resolution and the MPs of this country introduced the settlement to the Prime Minister at March 2015, enrolling for the demonstration.
The state government’s exemption against this project is pending before the Supreme Court, and the nation has also protested prior to the Cauvery water control ability,” Stalin explained.
The ministry said he encouraged that the PM, through his interview on Thursday at New Delhichose to not grant consent for the undertaking.
Stalin stated Karnataka chief minister Yediyurappa devoting an announcement was not conducive to the excellent relations between the nations.
“It’s also to fool the farmers of Tamil Nadu and also the country ,” he added.
