Karnataka SSLC exam 2021: 12 candidates in each classroom at exam centres

MYSURU: As per the changed exam pattern, the department of public instruction (DPI) has made preparations, so that SSLC exams can be conducted safely in the district, which will tentatively be held in the third week of July.
Of the total 38,992 students, 37,477 are freshers, 1,081 are private students, and 434 are differently abled candidates.

The Karnataka State Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) simplified the examination this year, in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, restricting the exam for only two days, to conduct an exam for 40 marks, for each subject paper.

Exams will be held for languages papers like Kannada, English, Hindi and Urdu on the first day.
As each language subject carries 40 marks, there will be 120 multiple-choice based questions.
Optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets will be given by the board to those appearing for the exam.

One candidate will be allowed to sit on a table, to write the exam this year.
There will be 12 candidates in each classroom.
Deputy director of public instruction Panduranga told TOI that the department has made all the necessary preparations to safely conduct the SSLC exam, by adhering to social distancing guidelines and other protocol, as well as precautionary measures issued by the government, like sanitising the classrooms in exam centres.
“In case students have Covid-19, they will be allowed to write the exam later.
Students having mild symptoms of Covid-19 will be allowed to appear for the exam in separate classrooms.
The department will depute teachers who underwent vaccination for exam duty, and those who have tested negative for Covid-19,” he said.
