Karnataka stocks from the three main drugs to treat Covid-19 will last only a month

Bengaluru: Stock three main drugs used to treat Covid-19 in the country warehouse enough to last a month and only a small portion of the recommended amount, data shows.
The state government has now issued a purchase order for the procurement of Tocilizumab antivirus drugs, Dexametasone steroids and antifungal posaconazole.
To overcome the third wave, the center has instructed the country to ensure stock buffers from eight important drugs needed to treat Covid-19, and, based on consumption during the second wave, have also determined the required quantity.
Eight drugs are heparin anticoagulants, steroid methylprednisolone, dexamethasone (injection), antiviral remedies, tovilizumab, antifungal amphotericin b (injection), posaconazole (injection), and intravenous immunoglobulin (injection).
While Karnataka has a stock of other drugs in the amount of determined, it lacks tocilizumab buffer supplies, dexamethasone and posaconazole.
At present, the number of Todilizumab in stock is only 10.
