Karnataka: Students paint Diyas to fund their studies

Mangaluru: Because the lights festival is only around the corner and craftsmen are also reportedly increasing the production of ground lights (Diyas), a second year student from a private college in Moodbidri is busy giving a solid light by painting it.
The 23-year-old artist, Raksha R Poojary, from Kaup in the Udupi district, said he decided to paint Diyas and sell it for not only funding his education but also helped his younger brother, a diploma student.
He said, “Based on the response received last year, who surpassed hope, I decided to paint Diyas inside too.
It all started last year, when I brought around 20 Diyas from the supermarket, painting and serving it at an exhibition in Shirva.
At that time, My intention is not to sell it but Diyas attracts the attention of some visitors at the exhibition, who wants to buy it.
Every time it costs around Rs 20 and I charge an additional Rs 5, as a fee for my painting.
I then bought another Diyas 25 set, which was sold Instant, and I gradually started ordering.
Last year, I finally painted nearly 2,000 Diyas.
“Raksha is the princess Ramesh Poojary, who is physically challenged, and Shashikala Kotian, who works at a grocery store.” This initiative helped me support my studies.
This year, I received an order of more than 1,500 Diyas so far.
Diyas painted in copper color, with antique display, sold SE Peep hot cakes.
This time, I also took DIYAS paintings from various sizes and designs.
Among various sizes and designs.
Among the various sizes, Lotus design has good demand.
Customers like color combinations.
Because of his high demand, I was forced to buy 1,000 additional lights from Mumbai.
When compared with Plain Diyas, I charge an additional Rs 10 for my work.
“Raksha said.
