Karnataka: Tests off or on? Await PU, SSLC pupils

BENGALURU: Even though CBSE and ISC have called their examinations, pupils of this Karnataka State Board are awaiting the authorities to have a choice.
The clamour for cancelling II PU along with SSLC newspapers has increased following Tuesday’s development.
Primary and secondary schooling ministry S Suresh Kumar stated on Wednesday that a statement could be reached in 2 days.
“Consultations are underway with stakeholders, such as educationists and parents.
We’ll shortly come to some decision remembering the future and health of kids,” he explained.
Pupils and parents want the government to make up its head fast.
“The courses including II PU and Std 10 started over one year ago.
Other nations and instruction boards also have finalised their coverages, but we’re still consulting individuals.
Kids are nervous and tired.
They cannot concentrate on anything else,” explained Sumitha M, a parent of an SSLC pupil.
The Karnataka State PU College Lecturers’ Association stated that the tests must be cancelled in the aftermath of the Centre’s statement.
“We can think of SSLC and that I PU marks.
While the last examination of that I PU wasn’t held this past year, there had been mid-term newspapers and unit evaluations,” said association president Ningegowda AH.
HK Manjunath, who directs the Karnataka State High School Assistant Teachers’ Organization, stated that the authorities must wait for an additional month.
“In case Covid-19 instances are still under command, they ought to consider cancelling SSLC examinations,” he further added.
Niranjanaradhya VP, also a senior fellow in the Centre for Child and the Law, National Law School of India University, also prohibits calling Std 10 and II PU examinations.
“Cumulative operation scores and records from preceding papers may be employed to assess pupils.
This can work because each area has another entrance evaluation,” he explained.
“In the previous 14 months, pupils have faced several challenges and openings in learning.
In the subsequent two to three weeks, then these openings must be filled” D Shashi Kumar, the general secretary of the Associated Managements of Main and Secondary Colleges in Karnataka, considers the Centre’s decision to cancel Std 12 examinations has established an unhealthy precedent.
“How can kids be appraised? Tests have to be held at the country with micro-planning in the college level, like this past year,” he explained.
