Mysuru: In an example of how troubling the threat of Covid, especially if someone lowered someone’s guard, 25 people who attended a person’s last ritual in Thimmanakopalu Village below the limit of Doddabyadarahalli Gram Panchayat, had been positively tested.
After the cluster outbreak, officials have sealed the village.
The source said, 11 days ago, locals had gathered in large quantities for the final rites of someone who had died.
When some people who attended the final ceremony developed Covid-19 symptoms three days ago, they and many others in the village took Covid.
Now, 25 has been tested positively.
To prevent infection spread further, the administration of sealing in the village and the Ministry of Health conducts sanitization exercises on Saturday.
Authorities say everything is tested positively recovering and does not need to be accepted into the hospital.
On Saturday the former minister, CS Puttaraju, who was a local MLA, visited the village and reviewed the situation.
Ningaraju, Vice President Gram Panchayat, said all those infected were in house isolation.
“Everything is now recovering, and the village has been closed.
No need to worry,” said Ningaraju.
