Karnataka: The Yakshagana artist is set to reap the rice they have arrived during the induced pandemic locking

Mangaluru: The Yakshagana artist from Yaksha Mithraru Panjinadka is preparing to harvest the rice they are strongly on two farms in Dakshina Kannada District.
The artists went down to the farm after Covid-19 pandemic made them unemployed.
Paddy grew up in the village of Kebekady in Athikaribettu Gram Panchayat, 40km from Mangaluru, ready to harvest, and the artist will hold a harvest celebration on Sunday.
Suresh Kolekady, Protector Yaksha Mithraru, said the plant was cultivated using traditional methods to promote agriculture under the theme ‘Bennid Ben Kuldu Thin’ (working hard in the field).
“There is no machine used,” Collekady said.
“We want to motivate the younger generation to grow plants using traditional methods.
The Yakshagana Troupes suffer greatly due to restrictions and locking Covid-19.
This is the second year we have been involved in agriculture.
Our six members went for work abroad and others decided to farm “He said the artist who was cultivated by rice in the land belonging to Mahabala Kundar and Bhaskar Bangera in Kebekady Village.
“We will harvest Paddy in front of officials from the village.
There are no machines used for cultivation, and harvesting will also be carried out traditionally, using sickle,” he said.
In the results, Kolekady said they expected almost 12 ‘mudis’ (one ‘mudi’ was around 40kg) rice.
“About 30 artists help grow rice around one hectare of land,” he said.
“We plan to distribute results among poor artistes.
There are many senior Yakshagana artists who have not received anything other than fame in life.
So Yaksha Mithra will help them through various initiatives.
After harvest, we complete the process left on Sunday,” He said, adding artists had cultivated rice in the field in Kelpady Village near Mulky last year.
