Karnataka: Trapped Leopard, Left in Wild

Udupi: Seven-year-old male leopard caught in a cage stored by forest officials, late at night on Thursday, and released into the wild on Friday.
Suresh Ganiga’s forest representative told Tii, that based on complaints from the locals, that pet dogs were lost from home, the cage remained near the house of Ashok Nayak in Gundupade from Kattingeri Village, about 15 days ago.
Once the leopard was trapped, based on instructions from the Range Forest Officer Subrahmanya Acharya, it was released into the wild.
Officials who are part of the operation include Suresh Ganiga, Hiriyadka DRFO Jayaram and Sunish Babu Forest Guards, Devraj, Jayaram Shetty and Keshav.
