Karnataka: Virajpet Samaj in Kodagu Bans Cakes, Champagne at Weddings

Madikeri: The Virajpet Kodava Samaj in Kodagu Regency has banned cutting cakes and drinking champagne at a wedding and other celebrations, which is said not part of Kodava culture.
Samaj also said the groom did not have to have a beard.
non-traditional performances during marriage and community functions are not intensely further.
Marriage and other functions must get more with 10 to avoid disruption to the community, Samaj said the relevant related resolution was ratified in the 99th meeting of the body in general on Sunday.
It was led by President Vanchira Nanaiah and was attended by 15 directors and 357 members.
The big decision is: the bride of the man must have a shaved face; The woman who blesses newlyweds does not have to leave their hair loose; There is no explosive firecrackers during the puja ganga; There is no opening champagne bottle cap; There is no cake cutting; no shower petals; There is no playing aligned ‘devata’ by the drummer from the Nadaswara group.
If Kodava is married a boy from another community, the latter should not be allowed to wear kodava dresses and mothers do not have to put the ‘bride’s pathak’ ornate on them.
