Hubballi / Bengaluru: After the anti-cattle massacre and anti-conversion legislation, the BJP government in Karnataka will encourage law to Hindu temples and religious institutions from government control.
Through this step, the state government tries to effectively allow every temple to form its own trust and use its income to develop the temple.
VHP and other right-wing clothes have urged the state government to submit Hindu temples to the Hindu community and ask the central government to bring the law to this effect.
After the two-day executive meeting ended in Hubballi on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Bukavaraj Minister Bommai said the bill in this case would be introduced to the next legislative session.
Karnataka has 34,563 temples under the department of Muzrai, Department of Muzrai (Hindu Endowment), the country controls 34,563 temples.
These temples are grouped into ‘A’ (207), ‘B’ (139), and ‘C’ (34,217) categories based on income.
The government produces RS 650 Crore every year from these temples.
The free temple movement began in Tamil Nadu with people questioning the need for laws to regulate Hindu places.
Recently, the Uttarakhand government decided to memo board Chardham Devasthanam.
The board manages 51 temple affairs in all states, including Kedarnath, Badarinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.
“Just like the church and mosque are controlled by the diocese and waqf, it is needed that the temple is also monitored by the guardian itself rather than depending on the government for every development job,” said a senior BJP office carrier, who attended the party executive meeting.
It was said that party officials were impressed by the CM that government control of the temples was the colonial practice in which Britain earned income.
“With the government now securing revenue from other profitable roads, control over the temple must be reduced,” said a party worker.
