LONDON: Karolina Pliskova reached its first Wimbledon semifinal on Tuesday with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Viktorija Golubic from Switzerland.
Former world number one Plisptova, now rank 13, will face the second seed Belarus Aryna sabalenka or ounces of jabeur from Tunisia for a place in the final Saturday.
Pliskova has not won the grand slam title with its best performance in the department where runner-up in the US is open.
“I’m very happy to get to my first semifinals at Wimbledon,” said 29-year-old Czecho who will play in his fourth slam semifinals.
His last appearance in the main semifinals was at the Australian Open 2019.
