New Delhi: The government on Tuesday announced the repair of Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara Corridor starting on Wednesday, the days of Gurupurab, the birthday of teacher-born Nanak Dev, on November 19.

Kartarpur corridor was closed in March 2020, almost four months after it was inaugurated, considering the Covid-19 outbreak.
MPS BJP on Sunday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to request the reopening of Kartarpur’s Sahib corridor.
Even the Pakistani government last week urged India to allow worshipers to visit Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara ahead of UTSAV’s prakash celebration.
Senior politicians from Punjab including former Chief Minister of Captain Amarinder Singh and Punjab Navjot Congress Navjot Singh Sidhu also have Twitter urging the Indian government to reopen the Karttarpur corridor in view before Gurpurab.
Kartarpur corridors, called “peace corridors” between India and Pakistan, have seen around 45,000 pilgrims through it between November 2019 and February 2020.
The corridor allows Sikh pilgrims to travel a visa-free trip to the Attari-Wadwara border through the border of Attari-Wagah.
