Kashi Vishwanath Temple Sanctum Sanctorum Open for pilgrims

Varanasi: Kashi Vishwanath’s temple administration allows the entry of worshipers in the Sanctum Sanctorum to offer Jalabhishek on Shivlinga from Sunday.
The entry of worshipers at the Temple was allowed from June 8 by ending the provision of RT-PCR reports considering the second wave of Covid-19, but the entry in Sanctum Sanctorum was not permitted.
KVTS Chief Executive Officer Sunil Verma said, “The Sanctum Sanctorum door of the temple has been opened but the Covid-19 protocol is being strictly followed because no more than five people are permitted at one time.
Wearing OS Mak and Sanitisization must also be for all worshipers.” The worshipers packed the temple on Sundays and displayed rituals such as Jalabhishek and Dugdhabhishek with the god of chairmanship by entering Sanctum Sanctorum since early morning.
KVT has been fully closed for more than 100 days during the first wave of Covid-19 in 2020.
However, when the second wave hit the region in April, the district government has made a negative RT-PCR test report from the last 72 hours must be to enter KVT from April 14.
The entry at the Garbhgriha (Sanctum Sanctorum) while Sparsh Darshan (touching Jyotirlinga) has been stopped.
Although the district administration and the temple authority did not announce the closure of the temple, making a negative RT-PCR test report mandatory to enter the temple causing a decrease in the number of worshipers who visited the temple to almost zero in 54 days.
Officials say SOP for crowd management in the temple, from the entrance to exit, is being followed to keep the right social distance to mark which has also been made.
The KVT had an average leg of more than 10,000 worshipers per day before the threat of Covid began in March 2020.
Despite reopening the temple on June 8, 2020, worshipers have come in small amounts even in the male month and on Monday.
The arrival of worshipers, including pilgrims, especially from the southern and western countries, began in the winter but the second wave of Covid-19 stopped it in April.
