Varanasi: Ropeway box for public transportation under the Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) is all regulated to be introduced in Varanasi, the election of Parliament Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
ROPEWAY has been chosen as ‘MRTS Choice’ after the Metro Rail proposal which was transferred during the Samajwadi government was found inappropriate for densely populated cities.
Officials expect the completion of feasibility studies, detailed plans and assessment of financial feasibility from the project in the next 20 days, after the tender floating process will begin.
The pilot project was being resolved by Wapcos Limited, which is an accredited public sector company under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, with the aim of launching it in November.
Under the pilot project, four-five stations including the terminus will appear between the Cantonment and Godowlia train stations.
Talking to Tii, Commissioner Division Deepep Agrawal revealed that the presentation on the proposed Ropeway pilot project was given by Wapcos on Wednesday.
“Wapcos was issued to the introduction of the Ropeway in Kashi after the Ministry of Development of Urban Union hinted at the understanding of the principle by means of transportation under the MRT.
Agency has started a feasibility study and this project tends to be in public private partnership mode.
If everything goes according to the target plan is starting the project.

“Under the pilot project, the Ropeway will appear in a 5 km area between the Canton Train Station (Varanasi Junction) and Godowlia,” he added, “The main terminus is being proposed at the Cantt train station while two or three stations will do it between it and Godowlia.
Ropeway is one of the MRT components.
Following the refusal of the Metro Rail plan on June 2018, the Varanasi Development Authority has requested Rail India Technical and Economic Services (Rite) to prepare a proposal by including various transportation tools that remain feasible for the city.
According to Vda.
Rite includes light metro, ropeways and waterways in a revised plan and gives presentations in this case in December 2019 by defining the alignment of their operations.
Rite proposal for the development of the MRTs in Kashi is forwarded to the Ministry of Urban Development of States through the State Government in January 2020.
Inside This proposal, the Ropeway was proposed between Khid Kiya Ghat and Dashaswamedh through the city train station, Rattt Railway Station, Rathyatra and Godowlia and the cost of capital capital is estimated at around Rs 800 Crores.
The main exercise for MRTs in Kashi began in 2015 when the Head of Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced a metro train project for Varanasi.
In the initial detailed project report from the Metro Rail, this Rite proposes two Metro Rail corridors who estimate the cost of the project as Rs 17,702 Crores.
Approved this DPR, the Government of Akhilesh on June 8, 2016 continued it to the Urban development ministry on August 29, 2016.
After the establishment of a BJP-led government in the state, Vda paid Rs 81 lakh for the rite to get a report on the feasibility of Metro serve.
On June 20, 2018 Vda did not find the Metro Rail project as commercially feasible after the ritual prepared a new proposal.
