Actor, writer, filmmaker and critics Mahesh Kathi no longer.
He struggled for his life in a personal hospital in Chennai after meeting with an accident on the road in Chandrasekharapuram Village at Kodavalur Mandal of Nellore.
Speaking with Hyderabad Times, hospital management confirmed the news and said, “Kathi Mahesh died at 4pm on July 10.
His condition was serious from Friday night and he died of respiratory complications.” On June 26, the actor was in his vehicle when hitting a container truck, making him seriously injured.
He shifted to a private hospital in Chennai for care and the AP government even provided Rs 17 lakh funds for it.
Last seen in Gopichand Malineni’s Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan Starrer Krack, Mahesh Kathi was also known as a film critic.
He gained fame after becoming a contestant on the Telugu version of Bigg Boss in season 1, organized by JR NTR.
He began his career with Edari Varsham and was Co-Writer Minugurulu – The first Telugu script was maintained in the permanent collection of the Oscar Library.
It was also the first Telugu film content for the Academy Awards in the best feature film category.
Then, he made the first short crowdfunded film in Telugu entitled Pesarattu, which uses FlowCam technology popularized by Gopal Varma RAM.
He also made the film Egise Tara Juvvalu which shows the need to develop scientific curiosity in children.
Unlike many of his colleagues, Mahesh Kathi is known as vocals not only about social problems, but also because it does not pollute words when they reach politics, religion or leading figures from the film industry.
