Hyderabad: Five days after Tollywood Mobile Phone Shalu Chaouration was robbed by an unknown man in Park KBR, Banjara Hills Police on Friday reportedly accused the defendant.
Although the police still turned tight about its development, the sources confirmed that a man was detained and questioned.
The suspect was taken from Krishna Nagar and was reportedly related to the film industry.
The police investigated whether the suspect was involved in a similar violation in the past.
In February 2021, a similar violation occurred in KBR Park, when there was an attempt to rob a woman, who was also injured during a robbery effort.
The violation took place at the same place where the actress was robbed.
“We suspect people in detention we have committed a similar crime in the past.
We tried to ensure the facts before we arrived at the conclusion,” said the source at the Banjara Hills police station.
Recently, the actress told reporters that even though she offered to transfer ₹ 10,000 to Ewallet accused, the defendant did not receive the money and look for valuables from him.
In the complaint submitted by the victim in February, there was no breakthrough so far.
The police have reached security in and around KBR Park after the latest incident.
On Sunday night, when the actress walked in the park, an unknown man came from behind and clogged his mouth with cloth.
The victim managed to escape but the defendant grabbed his phone and escaped from the place.
The actor called the police with the help of people who passed.
The police have verified CCTV recordings and the location of the actress’s cellphone tower snatched by the defendant.
