Dharwad: The study department in social work in Karnataka College (Dharwad) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bosch for skills development training to Hall students here on Friday.
After signing MoU, Prof.
Gudasi said that to bridge the gap between institutions and industry, there was a need to train students in soft skills.
“This program does not only make students ready to use, but also help them develop personalities,” he said.
Representatives of Chancellor said that under the 2020 national education policy, focus had been placed in skills development.
“So, it has become a need for higher education institutions to bind with leading companies to provide direct training to students and develop their careers,” he said.
Head of NK Sudhir Piddi said that the company has identified universities with potential free training on professional skills as part of the company’s social responsibility initiative (CSR).
After training, the company also aims to offer work for contributing students.
