Keep away from criminals & controversies: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan to the Police

Thiruvananthapuram: Chairman of the Pinarayaya Minister Vijayan on Sunday asked police officers to behave well with the public and were very careful in participating in private events.
His first meeting with all police officers – from Station’s house officers to DGP – after ruling for the second time was held behind controversy.
Vijayan said police officers had to stay away from those they did not need to have personal contact.

The minister’s chairman praised the police officers for their work during Covid locking but they also had to ensure that they behave with the public in a decent way and their work style was a model for fellow officers.
He said officers should not forget that their activities were carefully monitored by the community.
Video recordings from police officers arguing with a young woman in collapse on Covid restrictions has caused severe criticism of the style.
‘The police were told to avoid irregularities, police officers were also asked to avoid mistakes in dealing with cruelty complaints against women.
He said such complaints must be investigated by stationary house officers directly and they must be reviewed by the district police chief in their monthly meeting.
