New Delhi: It’s official now.
Coming April 2022, the owner of more than 15 years cars must have to get out eight times more than now to renew their vehicle registration.
The heavy commercial vehicle owners also have to pay for almost eight times higher to update fitness certificates for trucks and their buses aged more than 15 years.
Road, transportation and highway services on Monday issued a notification for the implementation of this new cost regime from next year.
However, notifications will not have an impact on vehicle owners in Delhi and their environment where more than 10 years of diesel and 15-year-old gasoline vehicles are prohibited.
According to notice, the update of the 15-year-old car registration will cost the RS 5,000, which is now Rs 600.
Similarly, the cost for the old motorcycle registration will be RS 1,000, where the current fee is RS 300.
Obtain a fitness certificate for Bus or 15-year truck or Rs 12,500, now is Rs 1,500.
Fitness certificate updates for taxis will also be seven times more than the current cost of Rs 1,000.
Every delay in updating private vehicle registration will attract a penalty of Rs 300 per month, which for commercial vehicles will be Rs 500.
Similarly, the delay extension of fitness certificates for commercial vehicles will attract the Daily Penalty RS 50.
Increased extension of registration and fitness certificates is intended to discourage the heart People from keeping their old vehicles.
