Bengaluru: After losing some deadlines, Metro Mysuru Road-Kengli corridor is likely to be postponed again.
Commissioner of the scheduled Metro Rail Safety Inspection on 23-24 July was postponed, officials said, and BMRCL had not received a revised date.
This means the corridor cannot be inaugurated on August 15.
Part 7.3km which was supposed to be completed in December 2018 which was missed by several deadlines – March 2019, November 2019, October 2020, February 2021 and July 2021.
“CMRS is expected to provide reports in one or two weeks after inspection.
We can start commercial operations after that.
At the same time, some civil works in Kengeri are waiting and we must complete them at the end of this month,” said BMRCL official.
The West-Western West extension of the Purple Metro line is expected to benefit 75,000 passengers every day.
The elevated part of the cengeri will have seven stations – Nayandahalli, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Jnanabharathi, Pattanagere, Kengeri bus terminal, Kengeri and Challaghatta.
