Thiruvananthapuram: The Pinarayi Vijayan government in Kerala is regulated to change the State Lokayukta actions through regulations amid stirring protests by opposition to legal experts who are seen as an effort to prevent each verdict from binding anti-corruption agents.
Draft of the Kerala Lokayukta (Amandment) Ordonance, 2021, has been sent to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan for his approval.
Ordonance proposes an amendment to Kerala Lokayukta Law, 1999, by replacing sub-sections (1) Part 14.
This particular part empowers a Lokayukta or Upa Lokayukta to make a declaration in its report that a civil servant who filed a complaint was made should not continue to hold the post That’s if the guess is proven.
“Where the competent authority is the Governor, the Government of Kerala or CM, he will receive a declaration,” it stated.
This is part of this law, which makes the verdict bind the government, which will be amended.
