Kottayam: Two political murders in the range of several hours have shaken the alappuzha district in Kerala.
In the early hours of Sunday, BJP State Secretary OBC Morcha Ranjith Sreenivasan was killed a few hours after the State Secretary of SDPI KS Shan surrendered to pierce injuries in a private hospital in Ernakulam.
Sreenivasan, a candidate in the election of the Assembly, was attacked by a gang on Sunday morning.
While Shan was attacked by another gang around 7:30 p.m.
on Saturday and was received at the hospital with several piercing injuries.
A group of men, who came with a car, dropped Shan from his motorcycle and attacked him.
According to eyewitnesses, Shan was attacked by four people.

“The acts of cruel and inhuman violence are dangerous for the country.
I am sure that everyone will be ready to identify and isolate killer groups like that and their hatred attitudes,” Vijayan said at a press conference.
He assured that the police would take strict action against those who were behind the actions.
