Thiruvananthapuram: Cherian Philip is likely to announce his new political decision on Friday.
There is speculation that he will rejoin the Congress Party, which he has left in 2001.
One-time Mentor Oommmen Chandy himself asked him to return to parties during the recent award function.
After that several Congress leaders have held discussions with him.
KPCC K Sudhkaran president and opposition leader V D Sathean also welcomed him back to the party.
Philip is likely to make a new announcement at a press conference he united on Friday.
He also tends to meet with the leader of the senior party Antony in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.
Philip had resigned from Congress in 2001 when he was rejected by the assembly seat for the contest.
He has opposed Chandy’s ommen in patishallally as a LDF candidate in the election.
LDF has given him various positions under his rule.
He has served as Chair of the KTDC and also the coordinator of the Nava Kerala Action Plan.
Recently he was also given the deputy chairman of the Council of Khadi, who was rejected to receive.
Philip was considered to chair Rajya Sabha by LDF twice but was rejected at the last minute.
The last instance was when John Brittas was given a chair of Rajya Sabha by CPM.
