Thiruvananthapuram: The number of Covid-19 Daily cases continues to increase in Kerala with the country that reported 18,123 fresh infections on Sundays took a positive total to 53.69.706.
Toll in the state touches 50,832 with 158 related deaths, the health department said.
Among the current deaths, eight were recorded over the past few days and 150 were designated as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
“At present there are 1,03,864 cases of Active Covid-19 in only 4 percent in need of hospitalization,” said the state government in liberation.
Among the districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded 3,917 cases, the highest in the state, followed by Ernakulam with 3,204 cases and thrissur with 1,700 cases.
The state has tested 59,314 samples in the last 24 hours.
Of those found infected, 113 reached the country from outside the interim 17,627 contracted disease from their contacts.
Source of infection 234 has not been traced.
Meanwhile, 4,749 people were restored from the disease on Sundays took the total recovery in the state to 53.23,430.
