Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Friday recorded 2,676 fresh Covid-19 infections and 353 deaths, which took cooperatives to 52,35,348 and death to 47,794.
Of the 353 deaths, 11 were recorded over the past few days and 342 were designated as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
With more than 2,742 people recovering from viruses since Thursday, total recovery reached 51.79,277 and active cases fell to 19,416, the official press release said.
As many as 60,962 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest by 503 new cases, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (500) and Kozhikode (249).
From new cases, 25 are health workers, 42 from outside the country and 2.453 are infected through contact, with the source is unclear in 156.
There are currently 1,11,110 people under supervision in various districts, including 1.07,564 in Quarantine Home or institutional and 3,546 in the hospital, said the broadcast.
