Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Thursday reported 3,404 new infections and 320 deaths, which took cooperatives to 51.95,997 and the death toll became 43,946.
Of the 320 deaths, 36 were recorded over the past few days and 284 were appointed as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court, said the release of the state government.
With 4,145 people recovered from the virus since Wednesday, total recovery reached 51.29,044 and active cases fell to 34,171, he said.
A total of 56,580 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest with 633 new cases, followed by Kozhikode (523) and Ernakulam (501).
From new cases, 27 are health workers, 8 from outside the country and 3,170 were infected through contact with the source was unclear in 199.
At present there are 1,47,204 people under supervision in various districts, including 1,43,110 in the quarantine of the house or institutional and 4,094 in the hospital, the release said.
