Thiruvananthapuram: Chairman of the Pinarayany Minister Vijayan has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urgent to release customs and IGST on drugs imported for spinal muscle atrophy.
The minister’s chairman has written this letter after Crowdfunding has recently helped Muhammad a one and a half year old in buying Zolgensma medicine, which must be imported from the US.

“I invite your attention to the main fate of Muhammad, who is 18 months old and is influenced by spinal muscle atrophy.
The child’s family belongs to Kannur.
Drugs for this rare disease are very expensive and not affordable for families,” Vijayan said in his letter.
This drug is proposed to be mobilized from people who are willing and imported from the US.
It was lowned that the center had released taxes in a case of a five-month-old toddler suffering from high school in Mumbai, said Vijayan.
“I ask you to give direction to the Ministry of Finance Union to take steps not to collect customs and integrated taxes and service tax in this case involves the import of zolgensma life savings,” urged CM in the letter.
