ThiruvananThapuram: Chairman of Pinarayi Vijayan’s Minister threw his weight behind the Caseendran Forest Minister even when the opposition demanded his resignation on charges that the ‘interference’ minister to resolve the abuse case filed by a woman from Kundlam.
On the first day of the second assembly session on Thursday, the opposition was looking for leave for the delay movement which quoted this problem.
Vijayan said that the minister intervened in this case because he believed that it was his party’s internal business.
“The minister does not make a mistake.
There is no effort on its part to weaken this case,” he said.
However, the minister’s chairman said that the police should not delay registration of FIR and the State Police Chief was asked to investigate why there was a delay even when the petition was received from the survivors on June 28.
Kundara MLA PC Vishnunath said the country had reached a point where even the governor joined the protest on ‘atrocities against women’.
He said that the survivor statement was not recorded by the police even after registering fir.
However, CM said that the governor’s protest did not need to be misinterpreted and protested by the way Gandhian was to create awareness about this problem.
Vijayan said the survivor would be given all legal protection and there was no need for problems regarding investigations.
Oppo leader V D Sathean said that there was no justification for the actions of the minister who had clearly misused his office to intervene in this case.
He asked if CM had given instructions to all ministers to resolve criminal cases such as cruelty towards women by trying to achieve a compromise between the two parties.
The opposition leader said that the government was talking about a scheme like Sthre Pxham for the dignity of women, but he stood with attackers and not a victim.
Sathean said that seasendran did not qualify to continue the office and had to resign or the head of the Minister must demand his resignation.
The opposition held a walkout after speaker M B Rajesh denied permission for the delay movement based on the explanation given by the government.
