Thiruvananthapuram / Kochi: The state government will hold discussions with trader organizations on Friday on their requests that shops in the state must be allowed to open throughout the day.
The Chairperson of the Pinarayaya Minister Vijayan will meet with representatives and consider their demands.
Today, shops, except restaurants and those who sell important items are permitted to open only on alternative days in places falling under the category A, B and C based on the level of pepititification test.
Traders have protested this and have challenged the government that they will open all shops throughout Thursday.
The challenges of traders have resulted in a bitter face between the government and traders, and the minister’s chairman has warned them because of the terrible consequences if they do it.
The problem has received a political round when opposition parties have protested the commemoration of the minister of chairmen to traders and said that there was no assistance at all from the government in terms of the moratorium package or assistance to traders after elections.
When people were on the verge of suicide, the government threatened them instead of offering assistance.
Then, the minister’s head had called Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi (Kvves) President T Nasiruddin and has promised to pay attention to their demands.
The meeting was being held after the guarantee of the minister’s chairman.
Follow policy decisions: HCthe State government must take policy decisions about requests to allow shop opening every day, said the High Court on Thursday.
This is a serious problem and the government must decide to allow open stores by following the Covid-19 protocol, justice said T.
Ravi.
If the protocol is not followed, the store must be closed and police intervention may be needed in such a way, the court added.
The court also asked the government to inform the details of the test level and the restrictions were dropped on basically.
The court made observations while considering the petition submitted by the Kerala Dealer Association and Garment Dealers looking for courts for the government to allow clothing stores and jewelry stores to open throughout the day.
The applicant claims that the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has recommended opening shops throughout the day.
The state government states that restrictions on store restrictions have been applied based on expert committees, which include disaster management authority officials.
The court said such steps had not resulted in a reduction in the crowd and that social distance was not maintained.
However, people wear masks because they have become a habit, the court said.
When the government proposed that community cooperation needed, the court replied that only strict actions would bring the right compliance.
The court will consider this case again on July 22.
