Kerala CM Vijayan backs Naveen Patnaik’s Proposal of Fundamental procurement of Covid vaccines

Vijayan said this while responding to Patnaik’s June 2 letter to each of the key ministers where he’d sought unity among nations within an perfect procurement policy.
He’d also advised countries to ditch rivalry over procuring vaccines by producers.
Patnaik had proposed that a fundamental procurement program and following distribution among nations for vaccination.
He’d also stated that there ought to be no consensus about the procurement of vaccines and countries shouldn’t struggle against each other.
“The only means to guard our people against potential Covid-19 waves and supply them with a feeling of success is vaccination.
Nations which have concentrated on vaccination plans have noticed a remarkable progress in their own coronavirus situation.
We must offer this therapeutic touch to our clients,” Patnaik wrote in the letter he shared Twitter, tagging all of the chief ministers.
“But this can’t be a struggle among the countries to compete against one another to protect vaccines,” Patnaik had said in his letter to each of the CMs.
Vijayan had on May 29 composed a letter to each of non-BJP main ministers such as Patnaik seeking an concerted attempt to press on the Centre to secure vaccine and ensure worldwide vaccination.
“Wrote to 11 CMs at the soul of Cooperative Federalism.
Really unfortunate that the Centre absolves itself of its own obligation to secure vaccines, make sure no cost universal vaccination.
United attempt to collectively pursue our real requirement is the demand of the hour, and so that Centre acts instantly,” Vijayan had tweeted.
