Kerala CM’s Olive Branch: Want the Governor to become a Chancellor not ‘resident’

ThiruvananThapuram: Chairman of Pinarayi Vijayan’s Minister on Sunday told the media that the LDF government had never tried to weaken the governor’s strength in his capacity as Chancellor of Kerala University, let alone a fire from his shoulder to realize the purpose of ‘politics’.
Said categorical terms that he and his government wanted to see the governor continued as Chancellor, CM but seemed to indicate that the LDF government was fully prepared to face the worst.
“My namukkum” (let’s see) is his response to pointed requests about the government’s reaction if the governor insisted on removing his position as a chancellor.
In an hour’s press conference held in Kannur, CM with a hard time replying to each of the governor’s accusations had risen in his letter on December 8 which accused the political disruption in the functioning of the university and the dilution of academic standards.
Vijayan said his government had never asked the Governor Arif Mohammed Khan to do anything against his conscience and had no intention of taking over the university chancellor post.
Vijayan said there was an attempt from several angles to sabotage the government’s efforts to give the meaning of a new direction to the higher education sector.
“It’s sad to see a public statement from the governor who can help the effort.
Stands that can provide support to people who think that Kerala should not experience progress should not come from people like Him who occupy a constitutional post,” he should say.
“The government desires that the honorable governor must continue in the position of Chancellor.
I hope he will change his stand about this.” Referring to the previous comments that the governor has been called ‘population’, cm clarifying that in the context of a round assembly resolution that opposes the CAA (controversial amendment law) and is only mentioned in the impersonal context to emphasize the rights of representative democracy.
The minister’s chairman said the representative of the university chancellor was appointed through the search-cum committee in accordance with the UGC guidelines.
“Prof.
VK Ramachandran, a Social Sciences, is a candidate for the government in the search committee, including in this case, including in this case, including in this case Sanskrit University.
It also has Prof.
Daran Gurukkal and UGC nomination.
Not rational to say that all This person is designated based on politics, “he said.
“Those who are nominated by such committees are considered for VC and Chancellor’s appointment to have all the right to express their opinions, but allegations that all of these are decided by CM and the Minister wrong,” Vijayan said.
He said the problem was between Chancellor and the search committee at the University of Kalady Sanskrit.
“The Committee found someone suitable for the post and this was communicated to Chancellor.
The mind for the panel appeared later and members of the Committee advanced with the procedure.
What I heard was that the honorable governor then told someone who occupied a responsible position in the Department of Higher Education – Not a minister but someone else – that does not need a panel.
What I understand is that this is a situation where one name is given, “he said.
The minister’s chairman said one name was sent for appointments at Sanskrit University because there were consensus among all members, including UGC representatives, in this case.
In the case of the Kannur University VC, the order was issued by the Chancellor itself.
“After making a decision, if a statement about that nature will appear, then doesn’t that mean he acts under pressure? The governor is a person who has been in the public spaces for years and has occupied a variety of posts.
If he has placed his signature and pointed.
VC and then he talks with his own decision, what needs to be doubted is whether it is because of any disturbance, “he said.
Vijayan said it was not a government policy to fight with the governor.
“On December 8, the Governor, who was also Chancellor, sent a letter that raised several problems in the higher education sector.
The government considers his concern seriously and the response is given the same day.
The response letter is given seriously.
By the Secretary of the Chairman and Secretary of the Additional Head ( Finance).
The Minister of Finance also met him and listened to his worries.
I could not meet him when I was in Kannur but had contacted him by telephone, “he said.
