THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Covid toll in the state reached 12,700 after 118 recent fatalities were added to the list.
Meanwhile, 11,546 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported from 1,08,867 samples tested in 24 hours.
At least 11,056 recoveries were reported on the day, but the number of active cases in the state has increased to 1,00,230.
Test Positivity Rate in the state is 10.6%.
There are 313 local bodies with TPR under 8% while it is in between 8-16% in 545 areas.
In 152 local bodies, the TPR is in the range of 16-24% and it is above 24% in 24 regions.
Among the new cases, 10,771 persons were infected through local contacts while the sources of infection in 624 persons remain unknown.
Besides, 70 recent arrivals in the state were also confirmed with the virus.
There were 81 fresh cases among healthcare workers in the state with Kasaragod district contributing16 cases followed by Kannur, 12, Kollam, 11 and Thiruvananthapuram, 10.
Malappuram reported the highest number of cases,1,374 followed by Thiruvananthapuram, 1,291, Kollam, 1,200, Thrissur, 1,134, Ernakulam, 1,112, Palakkad, 1,061, Kozhikode, 1,004, Kasaragod, 729, Alappuzha, 660, Kannur, 619, Kottayam, 488, Pathanamthitta, 432, Idukki, 239 and Wayanad, 203.
So far 27,52,492 persons have recovered from coronavirus infection in the state while 2,25,06,647 samples have been tested.
Most cases of infection through local contacts were reported from Malappuram (1,331) followed by Thiruvananthapuram, 1,192 and Kollam,1,187.
Kollam district topped the recovery count (1,819) followed by Ernakulam, 1,504, and Thiruvananthapuram, 1,392.
There are 3,92,633 persons under observation in the state, of whom 3,66,650 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 25,983 are in isolation at hospitals.
